Toys & Games: My Friend Huggles Dolls Win Consumer Award
“Launched by Quebec’s Great Divide Corp. at the recent American Toy Fair, the delightful My Friend Huggles line got great reviews from the industry. Six months later, Creative Child, a U.S. consumer magazine, has also endorsed the inspirational series of soft-bodied dolls with one of its prestigious 2012 Top Toy of the Year (Doll Category) Awards. The line includes six individually styled, named and outfitted dolls. Each doll, which stands about the height of an average two year old, comes with a satin ribbon on her back bearing a word representing a positive quality, such as honest, grateful, kind, generous, fair, and cheerful. Little girls, three to six years old, are inspired to explore the virtue of their new best friend at home with a parent and, later, on the Huggles interactive website. Kids can obtain rewards for completing friendship challenges in “real life” and then share the results with other children around the world. Designed to promote character building, Huggles dolls have no plastic parts and don’t require batteries. Blanket and additional outfit packs are available. For information, contact Great Divide Corp.”
One day at school a new girl came to class for her first day. She didn’t know anyone. I talked to her to make her feel good and less lonely. I felt shy going up to someone I didn’t know but I did it anyways because she looked sad. She was really happy that I approached her and now we’ve been friends for all of grade 1!

I like that the dolls have a character quality in which they are strong. They were well selected as, Ayla, my older daughter is strong in the virtue of Justice and so the doll who likes Fairness went to Ayla. Ayla named her “Justilina”. Adilyah, my younger daughter, is strong in caring and nurturing qualities. The doll who likes Kindness went to Adilyah, and Adilyah named her “Kinda”. The philosophy of your Huggles dolls sounds wonderful and I hope it will be of service to the world of humanity in creating more dialogue about our moral education.
