Juneau’s Imagination Station offers games, dolls, arts & crafts, science, active toys, pretend play toys, toddler and infant toys, building toys, and Alaskan toys and books. My Friend Huggles president Brenda Katz was recently there and paid them a visit!
My Friend Huggles was featured in the Westmount Examiner after taking part in a large street festival this past September. Oink Oink, a boutique that sells My friend Huggles dolls, was one of the retailers celebrating the re-opening of their town’s main shopping street. Re-opening a main street brings busy days for a popular toy retailer. Previous to the festival and during, many have shopped at Oink Oink, from local citizens to celebrities (this summer celebrity Halle Berry stopped in to purchase two My friend Huggle Kira dolls from Oink Oink!). Oink Oink, A store. A Fantasy. For boys & girls of all ages, is located at 1343 Greene Avenue, Westmount, QC.
During the festival My Friend Huggles had their Huggle mobile parked out front of Oink Oink, giving away a My Friend Huggles Cool Cuff for each doll purchased at the Huggle Mobile, running a colouring contest to win a free Huggle and interacting with families.
Shriners Hospital for Children — Canada, located in Montreal-Québec, provides world-class care to children from across Canada. They treat children with a host of orthopaedic and neuromusculoskeletal disorders in a family-focused environment that puts children at ease. Every member of their staff, from surgeons to therapists, nurses to orthotists, are committed to helping children improve their quality of life and achieve as much independence as possible.
Kids at Shriners Hospital for Children were the first recipients of the “Huggle it Forward Campaign of Hope” where every doll My Friend Huggles sold at Strangers In The Night 9 (a unique charity gourmet gala to benefit Starlight Children’s Foundation Québec), a second was gifted to a child in need.
My Friend Huggles and Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada are giving 1000 dolls to sick kids in children’s hospitals nationwide. Spreading smiles, love, and laughter where it is needed most. Love in Action 🙂
This “Campaign of Hope” will continue into the US hospital through the affiliated branches of The Starlight Children’s foundation. In order to raise awareness for our cause, we would be extremely grateful if you could follow our journey throughout this campaign as we spread hope one Huggle at a time.
In 2012 we brought our dolls into a kindergarten classroom in Good Shepard School, Montreal, Quebec. We were overjoyed that Principal Elizabeth Poitras, loved the educational component of our character value dolls. To the staff and students of Good Shepard School, thank you for sharing your time with us and for giving us the opportunity to show you how our dolls teach character values.
As we as move forward into 2013, we wanted to take a moment to look back on 2012 and say thank you for making My Friend Huggles such a loving, sharing and value-driven community.
2012 has been a great first year for My Friend Huggles™ and we couldn’t have done it without you. Whether you are a loyal retailer selling our products in your store, or one of our talented distributors, it is because of you that we come to work each day, focussed and inspired to make a difference in the lives of children. Thanks for affording us this opportunity and for allowing us to share in your success. Together we are inspiring a generation of socially conscious parents and educators that reaches world-wide.
As we continue this journey, we look forward to developing more products that set standards in equality, integrity, innovation and excellence. We have many exciting plans for 2013 and we can’t wait to share them with you!
Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year,
The My Friend Huggles Family
Children are our most precious gift. They are innocent, adaptive and intuitively trusting. They are our present, our future and our longevity. They deserve our respect, our patience and our commitment. Teaching them fundamental values is one our greatest responsibilities. At My Friend Huggles we’ve started with kindness, gratitude, fairness, honesty, generosity, and cheerfulness. We’ve themed our dolls and social media with these values. We’ve created resources & an on-line community centered on sharing children’s accomplishments and the teaching of character values. 2012 has been a great first year for My Friend Huggles; we couldn’t be happier and more excited about making a difference in the lives of children. Whether you’ve purchased a doll, submitted heartfelt words, shared information or passed on our message ~ we can’t thank you enough! To all of you out there, a huge “Thank You & Happy New Year!” With Love & Huggles, The My Friend Huggles family.
Reflections and Special Messages from The My Friend Huggles Team:
One of our wonderful sales representatives from our Atlanta Agency 225 Unlimited worked in the store Toy & Co. during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. She wrote to us with this:
“For the past 2 days we were having fun selling Huggles! I sold Rubi to a customer that was helping a family from Hurricane Sandy…Rubi will go to NY and become a BFF to a ‘lil girl who has lost her home. That was my favorite sale!“
Thank you Vicki, for being a great sales rep, for caring and for sharing this message!
